FEEDING 5,000
St. Matthew Lutheran Church is committed to sharing God's love with our neighbors. Feeding the 5,000 is our outreach ministry that provides food for vulnerable individuals and families in our community and around the globe.
Two times each month, we gather to pack lunches and snack sacks for those in need in our immediate community.
Our Saturday packing event is held from 10 am to noon on the first Saturday of each month. The Tuesday packing event is held from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Each time we gather, we pack 200 brown bag lunches for the Helping Up mission in Baltimore and 200 "snack sacks" to distribute to Baltimore's homeless.

LUTHERAN MISSION SOCIETY
St. Matthew Lutheran Church partners with the Lutheran Mission Society (LMS) to extend Christ’s love beyond our walls and into the community. Through this partnership, we support LMS’s mission of providing food, clothing, counseling, and spiritual care to individuals and families in need.
Our church works alongside LMS by contributing donations, volunteering, and connecting people to the resources and encouragement they provide. Together, we are able to share not only practical help, but also the hope of the Gospel.
By supporting the Lutheran Mission Society, St. Matthew joins with other congregations across the region in answering Christ’s call to care for our neighbors with dignity and compassion.
